Who We Are

One of the largest in Minnesota, VEAP’s Food Pantry provides food to community members to make millions of meals every year. VEAP provides access to high quality, healthy, and fresh foods for individuals, families, children, and seniors experiencing hunger or food insecurity. Every year, we distribute over 4 million pounds of food (half of which is fresh produce!) to over 100,000 people in our community. VEAP’s On-site Food Pantry offers a visitor-choice model, meaning Participants can select the food items they know their families will enjoy. VEAP offers a variety of fresh foods, including fruits and vegetables, an assortment of meats, and dairy, as well as basic food staples, like rice, beans, bread, cereals, and canned products, daily.

What We Do

Help provide fresh and healthy food to your neighbors! Our pantry roles include creating a positive shopping experience for all by assisting with the shopping process, fulfilling food orders, helping shoppers load their groceries into their vehicles, and sorting through food donations so we can ensure only the best items make it onto our shelves.

Pantry Support Roles:

Pantry Guide: greets participants at the beginning of their shopping and answers any questions about shopping in the pantry

Checkout Assistant: helps to finish the shopping by completing orders with personal care and household items, birthday bags, etc.

Exit Crew: stationed at Door #4; helps load groceries into participants cars (Outside year-round)

Delivery Packer: assists Volunteer Van Drivers by shopping and packing their delivery orders.

Order Taker: takes participants grocery orders car-side on Friday Drive-Thru days (Outside year-round)

Prep Stock Role:

Prep Stock is a non public facing role working with other volunteers to receive and process food donations.

This role includes sorting through our fresh produce, restocking the produce shelves, and/or sorting our shelf-stable food donations typically received at Door #4.

Please Note: The Pantry is closed for regular services every third Thursday of the month for in-service trainings.  Limited Door # 4 shifts are available for Express Pack distribution.
